Neurotheology

Description

Scientists are studying the impact of religious practices on the brain. Andrew Newberg, MD at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia uses brain scans to look at the effect of prayer, meditation, singing, spiritual retreats, and religious symbols. The goal is to learn as much as possible about how we respond to these practices and better understand the religious experience.
