Salvatore Scarlato is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. Currently, he is the president of the KWV Long Island Chapter and the NYS KWVA. This interview is apart of the Legacies of War Project. More than 1.6 million veterans call the tri-state region home. To honor the service, experiences and rich diversity of our region's veteran communities, WLIW invites local veterans and their family members to share personal stories about their service at home and abroad, and their lives after service.
