American Graduate Champion: West Davis
Description
CET American Graduate Champion West Davis describes his role as “instructor, father and coach.” A plumber and youth minister, Mr. Davis also runs a career and technical education program at a local high school. While a large part of the students’ preparation is learning how to properly swing a hammer and estimate materials, the sweat equity they invest is met with an equal amount of inspiration, support and advice from Mr. West. His students have one of the highest rates of graduation in the high school of nearly 1000 students, but their experiences go far beyond the classroom.
