A man w/arm & neck bloody followed by a soldier. CU, unshaven soldier, looks about, talks. Soldier catches shovels thrown to him. Wounded soldier (above) is helped over branches. Soldier crouched and on radio. Soldier near him directs a man who walks in. Two men dig. Two men carry empty litters. Six men have a tough time carrying a man on a litter. CU, soldier speaks into radio; keeps talking as he gives handset to someone off screen. Soldiers seated among dead branches. Soldier near an MG talks to another man. Soldiers wary as they go thru tangle. CU, soldier w/rifle in his arms, chews gum looks around. Two men dig; an ammo belt is picked up. Soldier talks to wounded Sgt who lies on a litter waiting for copter. Sgt smokes. CU, Sgt (not smoking); a look of resignation. VS, Bravo Co, 4th Bn, firing 81mm mortar.
