Dasha Kelly Segment

Description

Most Milwaukeeans know Dasha Kelly Hamilton as a spoken word poet, change artist, and founder of the "Still Waters Collective," a network for storytellers and language enthusiasts. But, she is also a published author and novelist. BN caught up with her at a community gathering for "The Great American Read;" where she discussed how she got into writing, what motivates her to write, and what she hopes readers get from her writings. She read excerpts from her two novels, "Almost Crimson," and "All Fall Down." We talked with her about the mental health issues that thread through her two novels and why she feels that is an important issue.
