"Native Voices: Social Issues" includes interviews with local tribal and cultural leaders, who speak to the range of pressing social issues that continue to be of critical importance to the Native American community, locally in Rhode Island and beyond. Issues include misconceptions in education about indigenous history and culture, challenges of preserving traditions as an “invisible” minority in their own homeland, rights to self-determination, and ongoing societal challenges.
