Michael and his family arrived in the early 1990s and were sponsored by his grandfather who fled Vietnam after the fall of Saigon during the Vietnam War. His family opened one of the first Vietnamese grocery stores in Buffalo, and now Michael shares traditional Vietnamese cooking through two area restaurants.
