Public Works For All
Description
The Public Theater’s Public Works initiatives partners with nonprofit groups across New York City for their annual production of Shakespeare in the Park. One organization is the Brownsville Recreation Center in Brooklyn, which had nearly two dozen seniors perform in the production of The Tempest. The group more than held their own with the cast of professional singers, dancers and performers, harnessing the power of theater for all ages.
