Making The Future - Amanda

Description

Amanda came to Trumpf in Farmington through the technical high school route. She went to Cheney Tech in Manchester and knew that she would have to hold off on college because her parents didn’t have the money. While at Cheney, she started an internship at Trumpf and was ultimately hired. She now works as a welder and was recently promoted, supervising 13 men – several have decades more experience than she does; at just 22-years old, she is often training employees with 30-years experience. She also just started her first semester at Tunxis Community College where she is studying to become a teacher so she could ultimately work in the technical high schools. She is a strong athlete and loves to bowl, play soccer, volleyball, and softball. She is on the company softball team.
