Troy, Alabama, is #winning at workforce development and preparing students for success through a partnership between a local school and business and industry. To meet current and future employment demands, Lockheed Martin's Adam Carson contacted local high school principal Dr. Brock Kelley to ask if they could collaborate and offer pre-employment training to high school seniors. Dr. Kelley wanted to be proactive in preparing his students for their careers, so he created a Workforce Essentials class at Charles Henderson High School with teacher Sonny Kirkpatrick . Adam and Sonny worked together to develop a curriculum that included employability and technical skills specific to Lockheed Martin so that students could be offered jobs after successfully completing the class.
