Making the Future - Lucas

Description

26-year old Lucas is a tool and die apprentice at Connecticut Spring and Stamping. After graduating from high school in 2010, he did what his college guidance office encouraged all graduates: attended college. But after a year at Northwest Community College, he realized sitting at a desk just wasn’t for him – he wanted to work with his hands. After a few unsuccessful jobs, he landed at Connecticut Spring and Stamping and was fortunate to be enrolled in the state’s Tool and Die Apprenticeship program, where he can spend time studying while on the job. His managers say he’s very talented and has a bright future. He loves to build draft cars in his free time and often takes them to shows and races. He recently became engaged to his high school sweetheart.
