Beyond Impressionism

Description

The end of the 19th century in France (a period known as fin de siecle) was a time of major political unrest and cultural transformation. And responding to all of this were, of course, the artists. These so-called "neo-Impressionists" captured not just the scenes but the mood of their country on the cusp of two centuries. We popped into the Columbus Museum of Art – the only U.S. venue for this exhibition – to learn more about the work of those avant-garde artists who picked up where the Impressionists left off.
