The fda recently approved the emergency use of a new rapid test for coronavirus. the test's maker, abbott laboratories, said it expects to deliver 50,000 tests per day.
The test detects genetic fragments of coronavirus when a person has high levels of the virus . this new test could accelerate testing across the country in physicians' offices.
The company abbot said the test can offer positive results in five minutes,
in england, consumers can get even get this new test in pharmacies or buy it through amazon. prime minister boris johnson has purchased 3 million of the tests.
