GI Jews: George Rosenfield's Climb to Glory

Description

A native of Boston, George Rosenfield reported to the U.S. Army Ski Troops, later renamed the 10th Mountain Division, in 1944. After learning to ski at basic training at Camp Hale in Colorado, Rosenfield was sent to Italy in early 1945. As part of the 85th Regiment, Rosenfield was part Operation Encore, a series of attacks on the Germans that became known as the “Climb to Glory.”
