Chasing the Moon Begins at Home - Michael's Story

Description

Chasing the Moon Begins at Home is a 4 part marketing campaign that centers on local stories of people that were either involved in the NASA program, or have a unique historical, analytical or futuristic perspective on space exploration and the first moon landing.

The aim of the campaign is to allow the local storyline to develop organically through each persons experience and insight to include events of the 1960’s that led up to the first moon landing. Each story recounts what the America and the rest of the world experienced during the early 60’s when President Kennedy thrust the country into the space race, to include the chaos of the 60’s and up to the final seconds when Neil Armstrong took his first steps on the surface of the moon. Unique to this series is the perspective of a local artist sharing his insight to the spirit of mankind; a group of today’s young people questioning the future of space exploration; a local NASA engineer that was part of the moon program; and a historian discussing the 1960’s chaotic decade and the marvel of America’s space race achievements.
