Should the Public wear Masks?

WNET

Description

While the White House and CDC officials consider whether to recommend that the public wear a face mask during the pandemic a growing number of health experts believe people should use them.

One of the them is Dr. Aileen Marty an infectious disease expert and Professor at Florida International University.

Marty says the masks will help stop the spread of the illness by people who have been infected and don’t even know it.

Dr. Aileen Marty:
“You don’t need an N-95 mask. You don’t need a fitted mask. You don’t even need a surgical mask. You can make a kind of homemade mask of any variety of materials and things.”

Marty says it’s important to wash masks made out of fabric after using them and wash your hands. The World Health Organization has not changed it’s position on the matter-- saying the general public does not need to wear masks.
