Caring for a Love One with COVID-19

WNET

Description

When a loved one gets coronavirus it can be stressful for the whole family.

The CDC has recommendations to care for our sick loved one while protecting the rest of the family:

First limit contact. If possible, have the ill person stay in their own “room” or away from others. That person should also wear a mask or face covering when around other people.

Avoid sharing personal items and clean and disinfect “high-touch” items every day.

People caring the person who is ill should wear gloves when in contact with body fluids such as saliva.

Help the person who is sick follow their doctor’s instructions. Over-the-counter medicines, such as acetaminophen, might help the person feel better. For most people, symptoms last a few days.
