Beto O'Rourke in Beaufort, SC

Description

Former Texas Congressman Beto O'Rourke participates in a roundtable with black leaders and members of the Gullah Geechee Nation in Beaufort, S.C., on June 14, 2019. O'Rourke toured the grounds of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Beaufort and learned more about abolitionist Harriet Tubman and Robert Smalls. The stop during O'Rourke's third trip to the early voting state was in part to boost direct interaction with African American voters--the main voting bloc of the state's Democratic electorate. The following day he participated in the Black Economic Alliance Presidential Forum at the Charleston Music Hall in Charleston, S.C.
