Americans are feeling the economic stress of uncertainty. Sixty percent are concerned about finances and an equal amount are worried about job security—that according to a survey by Fidelity Investments.

But the good news--the survey says Americans are taking steps to better manage their money now and prepare for the future.

Forty-eight percent are cutting back on discretionary spending—

Forty-four percent are working to increase their emergency savings. Financial experts say you should have at least three months' worth of living expenses in the bank.

The key to reducing stress seems to be coming up with a financial game plan—90 percent surveyed say a plan gives them greater peace of mind during financial uncertainty.
