Food Safety During Power Outages
Description
The FDA says perishable food is only safe to eat for a specific period of time after a power outage cuts off refrigeration. After that, bacteria and viruses may grow in the food making it very unsafe. But even within that timeframe if food doesn’t look or smell right to you after a power outage — toss it.
