Sen. Elizabeth Warren spoke at Clinton College in Rock Hill on Sept. 28, 2019 before a crowd of more than 1,000 people. This was her first visit to South Carolina in more than 40 days. Despite being held at a historically black college, Warren's crowd was predominately white in a state where 61% of the Democratic electorate is black.
However, Warren isn't the only 2020 Democratic presidential candidate have difficulties attracting black Democrats. Though former Vice President Joe Biden, who has consistently led polls by wide margins in the state, receives tremendous amount of support from the black community. Warren gives remarks for about 36 minutes and then takes four questions from the audience.
