Little House on the Prairie actor Dean Butler, who played Almanzo Wilder on the NBC-TV series, visits the Wilder homestead in Malone, New York, to help raise money for the preservation of the historic site. The organization United for Libraries designated the Wilder homestead a "Literary Landmark." Butler talks about the authenticity of the property, where book illustrator Garth Williams visited for inspiration. He also talks about the need to maintain the property. Video footage includes fans asking for Butler's autograph on photos. They also ask him to sign books written by Laura Ingalls Wilder, including Farmer Boy, which features the Wilder homestead as its setting and Almanzo as the young protagonist.
