Zora Neale Hurston

Description

Famed author and global icon Zora Neale Hurston grew up in Eatonville, Florida, one of the first self-governing all-black towns in the United States. The town outside of Orlando helped shaped Hurston who went on to write “Their Eyes Were Watching God.” The book is listed among the top 100 listed on The Great American Read, a national campaign presented by PBS.
